Dear Patient:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

The original goal to halt all treatment was to suppress the spread of the virus and reduce the use of protective masks, surgical gowns, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) that hospitals and clinics found in short supply. This also gave us an opportunity to reinforce what we have always done when it comes to sterilization and infection controls, as well as implement additional steps to make sure that every patient can be assured a safe dental experience.

We are very excited to announce that our practice will be reopening as of Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 for a wide spectrum of dental care. Our new scheduling options are designed to address individual oral healthcare needs and maintain a safe and sterile environment.

Infection control has always been top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable. Our team has been staying ahead of the curve, learning new methods to keep our patients healthy and safe.

Our office is currently up-to-date and exceeding standards established by the dental regulators and government bodies. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. When it is time for your next appointment, you will see the new changes implemented in the physical environment at our clinic. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use or direct you to our washroom for handwashing when you enter the office.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you and every patient safe in our practice. Our team will be calling each patient to reschedule their appointments very soon. We value your trust and loyalty. We look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.

Financial Information

At Markham Dental, we bill our services according to the Ontario Dental Hygienist Association (ODHA) and Ontario Dental Association’s (ODA) suggested fee guide.

We accept VISA/MASTERCARD/DEBIT and most insurance companies.

We submit claims electronically whenever possible, and will complete manual claims for insurance companies that do not offer electronic submissions.
